Paneer is a very popular Indian white unsalted cheese, similar to that of a farmer’s cheese. Most paneer when made is pressed into a rectangular block and it is often sliced or cut into cubes when preparing for cooking. It is a non-melting cheese and excellent for many Indian recipes such as ‘saag paneer’, spinach cooked with paneer, onions, garlic and spices; it is a very good source of protein for vegetarians.
